Analysis of the effectiveness of drama
teaching method in oral English teaching in primary schools
ABSTRACT
Drama-based
teaching has been gaining increasing attention in English language education,
and this study aims to explore its effectiveness in primary school English oral
communication. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach including surveys,
classroom observation, and interviews with teachers and students. The findings
demonstrate that drama-based teaching can improve students' confidence, enthusiasm,
and engagement in learning English oral communication. Furthermore, it fosters
a positive learning environment where students can freely express themselves
and engage with their peers. However, the study also identifies potential
challenges such as time constraints and the need for teachers to have
sufficient drama-based teaching experience. Overall, this study provides
empirical evidence of the positive impact of drama-based teaching in English
oral communication education for young learners.
